Interlibrary Loan Services

The interlibrary loan services allow you to access the entire Finnish library network. Through Posio Library, you can request an interlibrary loan of materials not available in the collections of the Library of Lapland network.

You can make an interlibrary loan request at the Library’s customer service desk, by email or by phone. There is a fee for interlibrary loans. Not all material may be made available for interlibrary loan and sometimes loans are only available for consultation in the Library’s reading room.

You can make an interlibrary loan request at Posio Library’s customer service desk, by e-mail or by phone. Please include the title of the work, the author’s or editor’s details and the desired edition (if there are several editions). Please also tell us if the request is urgent.

Please note that there is a fee for interlibrary loans. Once your interlibrary loan has arrived, you will receive a notification by SMS or email. Please return interlibrary loans ordered through Posio Library to Posio Library. You can also ask for an extension of the loan period at Posio Library.

You must have a Library of Lapland library card if you want to make an interlibrary loan request. There is a charge for the service. The interlibrary loan fees charged by Posio Library are €2–6 per volume. In addition to this, the customer will be charged any fees charged by the sending library.
