Pre-Primary Education

Children receive pre-primary education based on the Curriculum for Pre-Primary Education before the start of compulsory education.

The Municipality of Posio organises pre-primary education at the School Centre and at the Day Care Centre. The school year for pre-primary education follows the school term and holiday dates. Children also have meals with age-appropriate assistance provided. For children in pre-primary education, transport will be provided in conjunction with other school transport if necessary.

Data on children in early childhood education are transferred to pre-primary education in the year in which the child turns six. When a child of pre-primary education age moves to Posio, they can be enrolled in pre-primary education by contacting the principal or the school office.
